Burlingame Loop (Burlingame, Hillsborough)
I love this
loop and its variations because it is right where I live, and I
don't have to drive to get to the ride.
Most of the ride is along quiet neighbourhood
streets.
The streets going East-West (left - right on the map) have bit of
elevation gain from East to West direction. Of all
Trousdale drive is steeepest and Crystal Springs Road is the
easiest.
Along Chateau Drive, Ralston Avenue and Crystal Springs Road, you
will get to experience quiet, affluent town of Hillsborough and its eloquent
mansions.
Outer Loop - 20 miles
Start out on California Drive & Burlingame Avenue
(Caltrain station)
Cross Peninsula Avenue and continue onto San Mateo Drive
Right onto Tilton Avenue
Cross El Camino Real and onto El Cerrito Road
Right on Crystal Springs road
Right on Skyline Blvd
Right on ??? go under 280 freeway and make a left on
Skyline
Right on Trousdale Drive (steep decent)
Cross El Camino Real
Right on California Drive and go to the starting place
Other Options
- At the junction of Crystal Springs Road and Skyline Blvd,
you can take Sawyer Camp trail instead of Skyline Blvd.
Sawyer Camp trail has no vehicle traffic and nicely shaded and
could be a nicer alternative
- Climbing gradually up Crystal Springs Road and decending
blazingly via Trousdale is recommended. Trousdale is very
steep and lot more fun to come down on it than climb up
- Chataeu Drive and Ralston Drive are two alternative roads
to get up to Skyline Blvd. They are considerably more
steeper than Crystal Springs.
How to Get there :
