0_sawyer_camp_ride_map.gif[p2] Sawyer Camp Trail (San Mateo)

The Sawyer camp trail is located along Skyline Blvd between Hilcrest Blvd and Crystal Springs Blvd. (Just off 280). A very popular trail among joggers & bikers as it is paved & beutiful. Parking can be scarce at Crystal Springs side(San Mateo), but @ Hilcrest Blvd (Millbrae) is little less crowded. So use Millbrae side if you can.

trial (12 miles round trip)

The trail is very popular. So be prepared to navigate through a lot of other people (joggers, baby strollers,  old couple walking hand in hand), specially in the first miles within both ends.

The trail is paved.  Toilets are well placed throught the trail. And midway in the trail there is a water fountain

The trail is 6 miles oneway. Mostly open spaces with nice views of the reservior. Shades are available occasionally. The Millbrae side of the last mile has a small climb. That is the only strenous part of the ride!

Longer Option (20 mile round trip)

The route can be extended on the northern side of reservior.
go under 280 freeway and make a left on Sky line blvd
Left on Larkspur Road (go back under the freeway)
Right at the trail start
This trail ends at Glen View x San Bruno Avenue, San Bruno
This section of th etrail is less crowded than the main sawyer camp trail.  It has lovely views of San Andreas Lake.
