skyline/skyline_map.gif[p10] Skyline Blvd

There are many rides along Skyline blvd. Here are a few I have done. (Inspired by this great ride description at chain reaction bicyle store website)
  1.   Off highway 92 on south 35
Park at the corner of Highway 92 and Skyline blvd south. The climb starts immediatly and don't let untill for about 5 miles. I climbed from 900 feet at the bottom of Skyline & highway 92 to 1900 feet within 4 mils. The road is narrow 2 lane freeway with moderate to heavy vehicle traffic (speed around 60mph!) . There is no shoulder lane at all. And you are riding along while cars and motorcycles whizzing by! There are plenty of curves where motorcyclists really hug the curve - while going at 90mph. For some reason Skyline seems to attract a lot of motorcyclists.

I went 4 miles out when I almost got clipped two SUVs around a curve within 2 mins. That (not the climb) stripped my enthusiasm away. And I turned back

    Would NOT recomend.
