Sequoia Century organized by Western Wheelers bike club. Showed up the same day and paid $37. Started the ride without knowing sure of weather I was going to do the 100k or 50k.

Through the ride, I noticed my bike is not shifting all the way down (to the granny gear). This made the intial climbs along Arasterado difficult. Practically, I was riding on double crank.

With the troubles with the front deraileur(sp?), the day turned out be warmer. So I settled for the 50k.

Once passed the Edgwood road the climb was over. Recorded my speediest decent (during the ride) @ 44 mph along Edgewood. The rest stop at Edgewood park was great. Refueled, I cruised down hill to the finishing point (starting point).

Matt (the guy who sold me my current bike) from Bicycle outfitter was doing support and I bumbed into him at the finish line. He looked into my shifting trouble & fixed it temporarily.

[I continued to have the same problem well after that. I later discovered that one of my S&S couplers has come loose! Ouch!! Should check the coupling every couple of days. ]

The finish line was deserted, (even with a live band preparing to play) since it was very hot now, and there are no shades at the finish spot. too bad.
