Discounts For Me

This is my own project.

Lot of member organizations (public radios, auto clubs and gyms ..etc) offer local business discounts for their members. The site lets finding the member discounts easy.

The server application is built using Ruby on Rais. It is a web application and a mobile webservice.
Technologies used : Rails v2.3, Prototype JS, Hpricot for parsing HTML, Google geo-coding API

Highlights:

  • took the idea from concept stage all the way to a finished product
  • web site and a iPhone app
  • architected and developed both iPhone-APP(Objective-C) and the SERVER-SIDE (Ruby on Rails)
  • negotiated agreements with member organizations
  • promoted the site using social media (Twitter, Facebook)
