Gazopa Style iPhone

I built this iPhone app for Hitachi Gazopa project.

Gazopa is a similar-image-search engine. Given an image, it can identify similar images that matches shape, size and color.

Gazopa Style is a visual fashion search tool that is built on Gazopa Image search engine. Users can search for clothing using an image (show me dresses like this one). The search is performed across multiple shopping sites (Amazon, Ebay, Etsy and ShopStyle).

The iPhone app allows users to search by photos (from their camera or photo library).

Server backend

  • Built on Ruby on Rails
  • Serves as a web application (style.gazopa.com) and a webservice platform for the iphone app
  • Webservices are tuned for performance. Data sent over the wire is kept to a minimum; Also frequently used data is cached for quicker response
  • Built in 'security codes' to prevent un-authorized clients

Search by using filters (Brand, Clothing Type and Shops)
drill down search using 'Similar Items'. This uses the image matching technology to find items that looks similar
